Jacques Brel in Sydney - Sutherland - June 2016
From the 17th till the 26th of June, Jacques Brel, the very influential Belgian composer and performer will be showcased by the Miranda Musical Society, one of Sydney's finest Community Theater Company. The musical theater called "Jacques Brel is alive and well and living in Paris" is directed by Geraldine Turner and Mark Cranston Reid and will be played at the Sutherland Memorial School of Arts. Congratulations to the Red Electrical Devils from CE+T Power who won the first prize of the Little Box Challenge held by Google. The competition launched a global call to shrink a classical inverter down to something smaller than a small laptop, with a power density of 50 W/in3 or greater; they won with the smallest solution. We hope to see the CE+T Power team at AOG next year for their second attendance at the largest oil & gas industry event in Australia.
APAIE Conference : Melbourne - March 2016
Our agency WB Campus, which promotes higher education in Belgium (French speaking part) took part in the APAIE Conference early March in Melbourne representing a total of 5 Belgian universities and 3 higher education schools.
The APAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition is one of the most well-known forums in the Asia-Pacific region for bringing together policy-makers and education experts from around the world to improve professional skills and learn about new developments in international education.

Each year during the third week of March, the International Day of La Francophonie gathers lovers of the French language all around the world. On the occasion, the Alliance Française de Sydney, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Sydney, the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney and The Belgium Trade Office in Sydney are organizing a NSW state-wide photo contest focusing on 10 French words.
The participants are invited to submit a photo inspired by one of the ten French words until the 7th of February 2016. The public is invited to vote until the 7th of March 2016 for its favorite photo between the top 50 photos selected by the jury. Do not hesitate to participate with a chance to win amazing gifts including a trip to New Caledonia!

February 2016 - Australian Oil & Gas Exhibition - Perth
For the third consecutive year, the Belgian Trade Office attended the Australian Oil & Gas Exhibition in Perth from the 24th to the 26th of February. As Australasia’s largest oil and gas industry event for more than 30 years, AOG attracted over 600 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, and draw more than 15,000 visitors, exhibitors and conference delegates from around the world. We represented Belgium technological “know-how" as innovation and excellence are inherent to the Belgian companies attending AOG 2016: Besix, CE+T, Diarotech, Hamon, Icare, Jan De Nul, Schréder and Teledyne ICM.

November 2015 - AusRail Plus - Melbourne
For the very first time, the Belgian Trade Office attended the largest rail industry event in Australasia: AUSRAIL PLUS. This event attracts around 450 exhibiting organisations biennially, 900 conference delegates, 120 high level speakers and provides 12 networking functions including delegate luncheons, gala dinners and exhibition networking drinks. The Walloon company BEA, specialized in automatic entrances in railway applications, was there on our stand.
July 2015 - Belgian village at the BBR Festival - Circular Quay
This dazzling outdoor festival is unique, providing exciting entertainment like live concerts, cooking masterclasses, foreign film screenings and delicious French, Canadian, Swiss and of course Belgian food! For the first time, Belgium will have its own "village" where you can enjoy authentic Belgian waffles, indulgent chocolate, our famous beers but also traditional dishes coming straight from our beautiful country.

One of France’s best DJ’s will be spinning funky French and international beats on Saturday night for dance lovers in Customs House square, entertaining a giant crowd of revelers who will party on into the night.
For the avid shopper, an authentic European style Artisan Market, as well as a Flea Antique Market, will be set up in the square where you can check out chic lifestyle products.

June 2015 - Australian artists in Mons 2015
In the framework of the European Capital of Culture festivities, Mons 2015, Punctum, an artist-led Live Arts organisation based in Melbourne, is organizing a 10 days series of 18 contemporary performances and installations. As part of the Ailleurs en Folie event in Mons - Belgium, don't hesitate to come and explore the different audio and visual worlds of both Australian and home-grown artists from the 18th to the 28th of June.
